The focus of CBU's fully online DrPH program is to develop public health leaders who can integrate evidence-based science into public health practice, apply models and theories to address chronic and emerging issues locally and globally, and to demonstrate ethical leadership in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Created with flexibility for the working professional, the 74-unit online DrPH can be completed in three years.

Program Details

Consistent with the university student outcomes, upon completion of the Doctor of Public Health degree, graduates will be able to:

  1. Effectively present information orally and in writing at the post-graduate level.
  2. Analyze, synthesize and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data.
  3. Apply theories of management and leadership within an ethical framework.
  4. Develop, implement and evaluate innovative approaches for diverse environments.
  5. Analyze and evaluate current health trends and practices that influence individual and population health.
  • Health Education and Promotion

HSC 710: Public Health Policy

This course examines public health and healthcare policy. Students will discuss federal, state, and local health policies, how and why policies are developed, and how research, politics, and other social factors inform the health policy-making process. 

HSC 730: Global Health

This course examines complex global health challenges, threats, tensions, and multiple programmatic and policy responses adopted by low and middle income countries and communities. 

HSC 735: Planning and Funding Health Interventions

This course examines implementation of evaluation of public health programs and their effectiveness. As this course is designed to be grounded in public health practice, students will complete the course with the skills necessary to develop both a program and evaluation plan.
